Carly Konsker:

Hello, hello. Welcome back to winter robes. I'm Carly Konsker, and I am staying at The Opus Westchester. I am here with no voice. And when I say I have no voice, I mean my voice is gone. And for those who know me, know that means it is the result of a great freaking night. So I'm here celebrating my really great friends, the Mackey's, they got married yesterday. So congratulations and Mazel Tov to my friends. We had the best freaking time at their wedding. It was so much fun. I absolutely loved the location. It was gorgeous. It was at Blue Hill, at Stone barns, Michelin star food, four course dinner. They had a whole bread experience during cocktail hour. They had everything that you could have wanted out of a wedding. It was stunning. Their band, chef's kiss, the location, venue, gorgeous. Chuppah, phenomenal. So it was an absolutely flawless wedding, and I was so happy for them, and I was so happy they could be here to celebrate. But let's get into the Opus. So first of all, shout out to my friend Jamie, because she called downstairs. They do not have robes in the room or slippers, but they do have them. If you want them, they will bring them to you. And I kind of understand why they don't have the robes in the room, because they're not soft. They have a cute little Opus, oh, logo. They're roomy. I think they're like, Frette or something. But they are not soft by any means. So I'm not really loving being in this but What's a girl to do? I'm staying in just like a regular King room. Bed was super comfortable. They were so good about accommodating no feathers. My room was completely feather free, which is incredible and very spacious. Three of us got ready in here yesterday, and the bathroom is massive. I think my favorite part of this room is a bathroom. This bathroom has a double sink. It has a beautiful bathtub. You turn the corner and there's a vanity area with another mirror, then the shower with the rainfall, and then a private, closed off bathroom, which, if you're here with, like, a partner, and you don't want them to, like, see you do your business, ideal. Obviously, I'm not here with a partner, I'm here solo. So doesn't make a difference to me. This hotel has a pool, spa, gym, I believe I have not seen any of it. I'm solely here because I needed a place to stay for the wedding, and this is where we were all staying. We all came back to the hotel. We had a great after party in their sweet hot dog fries. I will say I was craving some chicken fingers. And unfortunately, unfortunately, The Opus. When I called for chicken wingers this morning, told me I can't get them till 1pm and I'm trying to head out. First of all, my dedication to this podcast, doing this at 9am right now, after going to sleep at like 3:30/4:00 in the morning, you're welcome like you are all welcome, because my dedication is waking up, putting on makeup, looking this cute after a full rager last night. So you're all welcome bringing you an amazing review and some fun stories. I mean, it wasn't fun for me, but this might be fun for you guys, so I flew in on a red eye. Wednesday night, landed. Thursday morning, got to the airport on time, plenty of time to go to the Delta lounge. Checked in through the delta one, LAX check in. Brand new, amazing terminal. Three arrivals. You go, somebody with a cart comes in, grabs your bags for you, helps you check in. You go through a private security area. It's absolutely incredible. I love it, except for the fact, except for the fact my luggage was a left at LAX. My luggage was left at LAX. Was it put on the flight after mine? No Did I have air tags in my bed? Absolutely and I land, and I'm like, This is so weird. My bag's not on the carousel. I look on find my app on iPhone, if I find my app says Your bag's still in LAX. And I go, that's not possible. It's absolutely not possible I have a black tie wedding to get to. Luckily, I had my dress with me in a hanging bag, because I knew, like, that's the most important part. Like that was not getting folded in a bag, but to see my luggage and my idea I was the only one from my flight in. That baggage Service Office, no one else's luggage was taken off the plane. I don't even think my luggage made it on the plane. It wasn't even taken off. It just wasn't on it. So I go to the baggage service, I tell them my situation. I say, Hey, I see my luggage. It's at LAX. Why is it there? I have a wedding. You have to deliver it tonight, because the wedding is about an hour outside the city. I was staying in the city for a day, and then I was driving out here. I was like, I need this bag. Otherwise I have to go buy shoes, makeup, purse, like everything that I would need. I had no clothes. I was borrowing my mother, thank God I grow up. In New York City, and that my mother was I had could fit in her clothes. I wore her leggings, a t shirt. I had to go out and buy a top to go out that night because we had wedding festivities. It was a hot mess. I had to buy makeup. Thank you, delta for my little shopping spree, because this is on you, and you will be reimbursing me for my troubles. Not only did they lose my bag, but this bag is a brand spanking new. When I say brand spanking new, I've used it one time when I pulled up to the delta one check in, she goes, Is this a new bag? And I go, kind of Yeah. Like this is literally my second time using it. I finally get my luggage early in the morning. It must have been like three or four in the morning, maybe five, right? I look at my luggage when I wake up and it's broken. They've ripped a hole in it, damaged my luggage, which delta you will be charged for as well, because this is a brand new bag, and I gave it to you guys in pristine, pristine condition. So to not only leave my bag off the plane, then not have it on the flight that was an hour after mine, to then have it come the next day, have it land at 4:30 in the afternoon to then get delivered to me at like 5am on the day I have to leave for this wedding and to have it be damaged. Shame on you, Delta. Shame on you. So yeah, it was an experience this week, this weekend, but delta picked the wrong girl on the wrong weekend because I was not showing up naked, without makeup, without clothes. So it was a little bit of an expensive few days for Delta. But all in all, I got my bag, made it to the wedding, and all was good. Thank goodness This hotel is there's actually the Ritz Carlton residences are attached to this hotel. I think, I don't know if they're attached, but they're, like, next, next door. I believe this used to be a Ritz, and then the Opus took over. But it's a great hotel. Lots of rooms. My room is like, kinda, I'm in room 637, and it's a little bit of a walk. So, like, if you're in heels, mind you, it's a little bit of a walk, but absolutely great. I'm so happy I stayed here. I will say it feels very boutique. In the sense of the staff was very nice, but it felt a little understaffed, which in a boutique hotel, you know that like you're getting, like service is great, but it might not be so immediate, and that was kind of the feeling I got, but It's been incredible staying here. I will say this is in Westchester. I don't spend a lot of time in Westchester. It is an hour from the city. So if you're here, you can definitely, like, take the train easily into the city, drive into the city. I drove here. My friends took the train here. So especially if you have a wedding out here, like it's a great hotel to stay at for a wedding, like it's perfect accommodations, and luckily, like, for us, it was 20 minutes from the venue, so it was super easy. May hit a little traffic leaving the city, but for the most part, it's amazing. AC is working great. I put it all the way down. As you know, had that full freaking blast, full blast. But so far, I would say the Opus. Check it out. Why not? Right? When in Rome do as Romans do. I'm sorry. I'm so delirious on this podcast, I don't even know what I'm saying, nor do I like can I comprehend what's happening right now? I went to bed at three in the morning. It's 9am I'm like, Hey, let's shoot a podcast. There's no chicken fingers. They won't deliver it until 1pm and I'm not going to be here at 1pm I plan on being on a lake, living my best life, having what to my dad, and seeing my little cousins, because. Only here for another two days, and then I head back to LA so gotta make the most of it. While I'm here, I gotta see my people. I got to see two of my best friends on Thursday night you went out in the city. We love this place called Swifts in the city. It's a great bar, especially if you're in your 30s. Amazing music. And when I say amazing, I mean, throwback after throwback. Don't go on a Thursday. It was dead on a Thursday. But prior Saturday, Swiss is a great bar. So far, the last three times I've been in New York, I've gone there, and I love it, so definitely check it out. One of my best friends and I, Colby, we notoriously, notoriously, love dollar pizza after night out. There's a place in New York City. I'm sure there's a few, but there's one that we particularly go to that's kind of near The Bowery Hotel. 310 Bowery there is $1 pizza place. It literally costs $1 a slice. We each get two slices. I opted for waterfall because I was being responsible. As a 30 year old who had been drinking all night and had to go to a wedding the next day, we get two slices each, dollar pizza, $2 and it's delicious. I'm not gonna lie, it really hits the spot. Have I ever had it? Sober? Absolutely not, because you don't eat dollar pizza sober, you have to eat it after a night out, and it's open all hours of the night when I've had friends come to visit, so I'll go to Dollar pizza and blew their mind. Blew their freaking mind. Only in New York City could you get dollar pizza any hour the night and have it be delicious. So I highly recommend go to the bars, hit them up, have a great time, and then check out the dollar pizza place, because what more can a girl ask for besides chicken fingers at 9am at The Opus? So that's it from today, guys, thank you so much for listening and watching. Stay tuned, because you never know where I'll end up next. I'll see you guys next time. Goodbye. You.
